WHERE MURDER IS ALWAYS ON THE MENU

FORGET THE DATE. BRING AN ALIBI!

Public Shows on FRIDAY and SATURDAY NIGHTS at Milano Inn!

Mystery Café started this unique style of dinner theatre in 1990 in Boston. Since then we have entertained over a million people in 30 cities across the US., and are beginning our 10th year here in Indy.

Each play unfolds in four acts, with a course of the meal served after each one. Members of the audience may participate as much, or as little, as they like in the mystery. Upon arrival, you'll be met at the door by the evening's characters, who will help you find your seats and your new identity.

Fifteen to 20 guests have lines to read during the play, and some are given a song to sing. When the first scene starts, keep a watchful eye open for clues, and jot down anything that looks suspicious.

At evening's end, we give a prize to the person who best solves the mystery. We also give a prize to the biggest ham...uh, well...the best actor or actress from the audience. Every performance is unique because the audience is so directly and deeply involved. The magic lies in the interaction and unbridled creativity which occur in a room full of people who began the evening as strangers, but go home as friends.

OUR VENUE, THE MILANO INN

The Milano Inn opened in 1934, with Mary and Joe Modaffari taking over a late 19th-Century, brick building in the 200 block of South College Avenue for well-received renditions of spaghetti and meatballs, spaghetti with clam sauce, ravioli, manicotti, and pizza with assorted toppings. A conversation piece at the Milano Inn has been the dazzling mural that courses around all four walls of the main dining room, telling the story of the Allied liberation of Italy during World War II. It was created by Sergeant Donald Peters in 1947 at the behest of the Modaffari family.
