Indianapolis Civic Theatre is the largest of more than 70 Indiana community theatres and one of the ten largest of over 7,000 active community theatres in the United States. Civic also is considered to be the nation's longest continuously operating community theatre. Founded in 1915, Indianapolis Civic Theatre has been a vital part of the city's cultural landscape for nearly a century, providing quality live theatrical entertainment for a broad-based audience.
Civic represents a unique blend of avocational actors, technicians and professional staff, and offers a wide variety of educational and community outreach programs. In addition to the Mainstage Season, the Theatre's Jr Civic Education Program provides a comprehensive theatre-based youth program for children of all ages, including year-round workshops, performances and recitals.

This will be Indianapolis Civic Theatre's third year at its state-of-the-art facility on the campus of Marian College as the Theatre enters the 2006-2007 Season this fall. Marian College is located at 3200 Cold Spring Road, just minutes from downtown on the city's northwest side and is easily accessible from 38th and 30th streets.
