Detail:
Saving Abel play Southern hard rock influenced by classic bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and contemporary acts like 3 Doors Down. Led by front man Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null, the two men grew up in Corinth, Mississippi, playing in separate bands. After they began working on material together, they quit their original groups, later recruiting guitarist Scott Bartlett, drummer Blake Dixon and bassist Eric Taylor to complete the lineup. By blending the individual talents and diverse styles of these five artists, Saving Abel emerged with a unique and original sound, a polished combination of
Southern and Alternative-Rock.
In June 2006, the quintet self-released their eponymous debut CD. Upon hearing the addictive track, Virgin Records felt so confident in Saving Abel that they snatched them up and sent them into the studio
to cut new material including the single "Addicted", which smashed into the top 10 of The Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. The band released its major-label debut, Saving Abel, in March 2008, which hit The Billboard 200 chart.
