| The band Orignal State of Mind is made up of Josh Rush (Acoustic/Vocals), Nate Muterspaugh (Bass/Interpretive Dance), Jared Hiner (Vocals/Piano), J.J. McGinnis (Drums/Soul Juggling) & Alan Long (Lead Guitar/Vocals). They started out as an acoustic two-piece in 2000 with Josh and Jared and have slowly transformed into what they are today, which is a cosmic blend of soul, reggae, pop, rock with a dash of hip-hop. They consistently bring a kind of groove that is appealing to all walks of life and music. When they first started it was hard for them to land a gig in Indianapolis because of their refusal to play cover songs. Now, it seems the midwest has caught on to the coastal vibes and originality that Original State of Mind steadily produces. Their appreciation shines for those of you who continually come out and support us. With their brand new freshman album "Fresh Cut Grass" near completion they plan on promoting the hell out of it and hopefully gaining more fans and friends.
